This blog is not strictly for international students, It is for everyone, you might have been born in the United Kingdom and not necessarily know of or visited some of these places, so this blog is also for you! It is also a very useful blog for tourists who plan on coming to the United Kingdom, It is also for You!!
I will be suggesting interesting places to visit and spend some quality time as a tourist even though you kind of live here :) Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing these pieces. I am Temidayo, and i am currently studying in London, so i am actively living, working and trying to live life on a budget as well.
For the first blog post, i think it is fair to start with some amazing places to visit in London either alone, or with family. I decided on London because it is the capital of the nation and has a thriving tourism scene, and i am fortunate enough to be studying here, so without further delay, here are 5 amazing places to visit in London.
If you are a lover of nature, beauty, aesthetics and serenity, then this place is the one for you. It is the largest UNESCO world heritage site in London and was formerly known as the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Forget the technical names, this place is simply a piece of paradise, you can tell every single person involved in creating this garden knew exactly what they were doing. It has been carefully and painstakingly crafted to reflect the sheer pleasures of nature, something we tend to overlook and undervalue as we go about our daily hustle and bustle.
I chose this as the first place because i will definitely be making a trip to Richmond, Surrey
There are many activities to do there besides observing nature's beauty such as the Treetop walk, the Marvel at the Hive, the Palmhouse and the Great Pagoda. I hope you get to visit this place sometime soon.

2. The London Eye.
Since i came to London, this structure has been on my mind simply because it is so famous, it has been adapted into many movies and cartoons over the years. So the chance to see the London Eye is truly amazing.
It is the world's tallest observation wheel, it offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the city. This gorgeous and unique observational wheel, also known as the Coca-Cola London Eye has 32 high-tech glass capsules or pods inside which you can stand and whirl like a large Ferris wheel.
There are many activites to do such as a 40-km view of the city from one of the high-tech glass capsules, a tour guide of the London Eye with souvernirs, a 4-D animated experience of the London Eye. I hope to see you there sometime.

3. The Westminster Bridge
This is London's oldest structure in London, I am a sucker for renaissance buildings and aesthetically pleasing structures so this Bridge is high up on my list of places to visit in London.
It is located in the heart of the bustling city of London, overlooking the tranquil waters of River Thames, lies the Westminster Bridge. Acclaimed for its elegant Gothic architecture, the bridge is now an eminent landmark that is visited by every tourist exploring the marvels of the city.
There are many fun things to do such as, a nice walk across the bridge, which offers views of many of the city's famous landmarks, Take photos of yourself and your family while admiring the views from the bridge and capturing the scenic vistas from atop it, Sip champagne while admiring postcard views of London from the decks of River Thames cruises.

4. Buckingham Palace
We have all seen Bridgerton, The Crown and many other movies that depict the British Royal Family and one thing that captures my imagination in all these movies is the opulence and magnificent nature of the Palace. It is one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful Place for a royal family.

Buckingham Palace is the royal residential hub of the Royal family of England. Notably, it crowns itself as one of the very few working Royal Palaces existing across the world and it is one of the best places to visit in England. On the occasion of both national and royal celebrations, the King of England gives his public appearance through the Palace’s central gallery.
Buckingham Palace features around 775 rooms which are inclusive of the 19 staterooms and 78 modernized bathrooms. The lavishly decorated staterooms here are reserved for the monarchs to receive their rewards. There are sparkling candelabras, sumptuous carpets, fine furniture, marble columns, damask wallpaper to embrace the overall beauty of the Palace.
There are many things to do at the palace including t
he Grand Hall of the monument takes you to the epic Grand Staircase, which is the first thing to see during the tour. It leads to the State Rooms, lit by a beautiful dome in the ceiling, The Marble Hall's "Mars and Venus" sculpture depicts the legendary battle between the Roman God of War and the Roman Goddess of Love, Enter the Palace's Throne Room, which served as a ballroom during Queen Victoria's reign and is currently featured as a setting for royal wedding portraits.

5. The Tower Bridge
Remember the nursery rhyme.. London Bridge is coming down, coming down? then this is the bridge that nursery rhyme talks about. Formerly knows as the London bridge.
If you are a movie buff, then there is no way you have not seen a depiction of this phenomenal bridge in movies and cartoons. It is known as the world's largest antique and is renowned world wide, it is one of the many bridges on the River Thames.
The rising bascule and the grand towers of London Bridge make it one of the most recognized bridges in the entire world. The most striking feature of Tower Bridge is it’s two magnanimous towers that are connected through two parallel walkways.
What to do at The tower bridge? Take a stroll down London Bridge and observe the historic lamps built from Napoleon Bonaparte's army's melted-down cannons. Enjoy spending time in the conspicuous bars and restaurants, and partake in taking a tour to the iconic nearby attractions and cultural events. Visit this lively waterside destination during the evenings to experience the beautiful sunset and take several photos of the landscape.
